Our Story

Vinecia Perkins founded Mae's Eden in loving memory of her grandmother, Shirley Mae (Harris) Taylor. Mae was a native of Washington DC, a phenomenal chef, a business woman, a follower of Christ, a mother of eight, and grandmother of 23.

Mae sparked Vinecia's interest in holistic healing and taught her natural remedies she learned from her African American and Blackfoot Native ancestry. When Mae fell ill from rheumatoid arthritis and congestive heart failure, Vinecia began to further her knowledge of natural remedies making Mae pain relief balms, fresh juices, and other herbal remedies to alleviate her pain and heal her sores. Catering to her grandmother was an offering Vinecia dedicated to the decades of kindness, love and joy Mae gave to the world. Mae was a garden that fed, sheltered and nurtured many.

Mae's Eden is a love letter to the garden of Shirley Mae.
